Everyone has a dream home. I used to think that I want a home that is extravagant and mansion like. As I grown older, it came clearer to me that what I want is a simple laid back home that is inviting and comfortable. My dream one is one that is not too stiff and formal yet exudes elegance. I want a house preferably sitting on a hilly area with a view of either a nice mountain scene or farm or close to the shore where a panoramic window will have a view of the ocean or lake.
My favorite exterior feature of my future home would be a wrap-around porch. Something about covered porches that entices me. I picture myself lounging with my husband by a swing in the front porch while watching the sunset, or sitting by a breakfast nook set on the side porch while reading a book, or having barbecue dinner with friends during the summer by the back porch while the kids play in the lawn. I love the contrast of peacefulness and social energy a wrap-around porch can bring to a home. It’s like a outdoor room that cradles your entire home.
