What to Consider When Buying an LCD Television

Deciding on the right LCD TV for your family can seem rather complicated, but after you know the price and size you are after you only need to learn about a couple of terms in order to make a well-informed decision. And although these TVs aren’t really cheap, there are ways to finance your purchase so that you can enjoy your favorite shows and movies at the comfort of your own home.

Measurements

Decide where you’ll put the TV and get a measuring tape. Getting the right measurements of the viewing area will help you decide what size screen will work best for your situation. Take into account where your furniture is and how it will best work with your new LCD television.  If you don’t want to change arrangements, work from where your furniture is now, and consider the size you think will work best with the setup.

Take the measuring tape and see how far from the furniture it is to where you plan on placing the LCD TV. If the distance is10 feetaway, a 35-inch (or smaller) LCD TV is appropriate. The longer the distance the larger the screen would be. With a distance between 15 to20 feet, a 60-inch television will give the best viewing experience.

Pixel Resolution

The screen surface of an LCD television has a fixed number of pixels. As a general rule you want to get as high a number of pixels as possible. For your viewing pleasure, the least you should get is a pixel resolution of 1280×720, referred to simply as “720p.” Larger LCD screens –40 inchesare more – are also available in 1920×1080 or 1080p.  This is great for high definition video formats, which is the standard today.

Frequency

You will see that the LCD television has different speed processors measured in hertz. Most televisions will come in 120 or 240 Hz.  The benefit of a greater number of Hertz is that it will give you a sharper image. It also reduces the natural motion blur, but this reduction in blur quite often can create what is known as the “soap opera effect,” which causes images to take on a plastic quality.  Fortunately most of these new LCD televisions let you turn this feature off. You should disable this feature for regular TV shows or series, but you will want it back on when watching Blu-ray movies as they are able to take advantage of the greater pixel rate.

Many excellent LCD televisions are available at warehouse stores for reasonable prices. Many find the quality and features of these flat screen televisions worth the cost and that a cash loan provided by Plain Green Loans

is an excellent way to finance one. Getting a loan is practical and convenient, especially if you don’t want to shoulder the whole cost of the TV in just one go. Decide which deal suits you, so that the payments fit your budget perfectly.
