Online shopping was something I veered away from, when I was back in my home country. I thought it was not a clever and practical idea to purchase stuff which I only see online. Also, I was too scared then to give out my credit card information in the net. Not only that, online shopping was not a popular choice back then. Until I came here and I was at the mercy of DH’s precious time to accompany me to wherever I want to go. I do not drive and he does. Two years ago, I was a stay-at-home mom who enjoyed her leisure time looking at beautiful things online and eventually wanting to buy them. Considering our location, we can only go around with a car and the means of public commute is not really something I want to consider, read: not conducive for a mom who has a toddler in tow. So there goes the start of my online shopping love. Then, I was surprised to find out that most shops actually marked down their prices online than in their physical stores. So I got hooked into shopping online and shopping, in general.
After almost 2 years of loving online shopping, I have learned that it is more practical to shop online than in physical stores. First, there are a lot of sites that consolidates online coupons, deals and freebies such as FrugalDad which I got my coupon for keurig. Second, you have enough time to think and decide whether it is necessary for you to purchase the particular item. I do sleep on my shopping cart at times and decide the next day whether it is still necessary for me to check it out. Definitely, impulsive shopping sprees are lessened. Third, you not only save time but also gas money. If you think that shipping can be costly, I always make sure to avail of free shipping or wait until the online shop offers this feature. So if you are still in a dilemma whether shopping online are only for the internet-savvy, think twice because most online shops make their sites more user-friendly and more convenient for shoppers to check out their products. As for me, I might as well try to lessen my time online checking out my favorite shops as I made a New Year’s resolution to shop sensibly this year. But it is only January and I might just have spoken too soon.
